In this article we explain the following error that can occur when installing GeoStudio 2007 on a current operating system (i.e. Windows 10) and your .NET version is 4.0 or higher.

The error message is confusing because your .NET version is higher than the recommended version needed for the software.

Cause

• The version of .NET that comes with your operating system does not include the necessary files for the older versions of .NET. 
• This means you will need to enable the older versions of .NET manually for the software to install.

Steps to Resolve

• Please refer to the following Microsoft .NET framework installation guide for instructions on how to proceed. 
  Install the .NET Framework 3.5 on Windows 10, Windows 8.1, and Windows 8
• Then continue with installing GeoStudio 2007.
