In this article we explain how to resolve errors related to missing runtime DLLs:
GeoStudio.exe - System Error
The code execution cannot proceed because <filename>.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem.
Cause
- This type of error can occur when you have use the Microsoft Software Installer (.MSI) package version of the GeoStudio installer.
- Using the MSI installer package requires the latest Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable(s) installed on the computer as well.
Before You Start
- This process assumes the host operating system is Windows 10.
- This process involves actions that require full administrator access to the computer.
- We highly recommend that you create a system restore point before proceeding.
Steps to Resolve
- Determine which Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable(s) installer(s) you need:

If you are using the GeoStudio MSI installer package on a 32-Bit operating system, you need to install:

vc_redist.x86.exe

If you are using the GeoStudio MSI installer package on a 64-Bit operating system, you need to install:
- vc_redist.x86.exe
- vc_redist.x64.exe

- Download the necessary Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable(s) installer(s) from the following link:
Downloaded from Microsoft - Close all running programs.
- Navigate to the folder where the installer(s) were downloaded.
- Double-click on the installer(s) to launch them.
- Follow any instructions to complete the install process.
- Launch GeoStudio to verify the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributables were properly installed.
