In this article we explain the following error that can occur when activating a license in GeoStudio:
This error can happen for both standalone and network licenses.
- This error message is telling you that your serial number has already been activated on a different computer.
- If the license was activated using a newer version of GeoStudio, you can find out which other computer the license was activated on by entering your serial number(s) on the form at the following link:

- Once you know the computer the license is activated on, you can return the license from that computer, making it available for activation on the new computer.
- *If you are unable to return the license because you no longer have access to the computer holding the license activation, GEOSLOPE support can assist you.
