Cause

This error message indicates the license type does not match the platform you are trying to activate it on.

For example:

• You are trying to activate a network license directly in the GeoStudio client instead of the license manager.
• You are trying to activate a standalone license on a network license manager instead of the GeoStudio client.

Steps to Resolve

1. Determine what type of license you have by entering your serial number(s) here:
   GeoStudio License Lookup
2. If your license is a:
   • Standalone license, activate it directly in GeoStudio. 
   • Network license, activate it using the lmadmin license manager.
